Kaya Barry is an artist and researcher based in Brisbane, Australia. Working across the areas of creative arts, mobilities, tourism geography, and new materialism, she has recently completed a practice-led PhD at Deakin University, focused on the material and spatial interactions during travel. Her research practice involves producing interactive artworks that utilise site-specific engagements with spatiality, perception, mobility and embodiment. She has exhibited in Australia, internationally, and online. Kaya teaches new media theory and practice at Griffith University and is an Adjunct Research Fellow with the Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research.
