Dr. Adam Newcombe is currently a senior lecturer of Design at Swinburne University, Sarawak on the island of Borneo. Over the past twenty years Adam has specialised in establishing, writing and delivering undergraduate and post-graduate design degrees. He has taught and lived in a number of countries including Australia, China, Singapore, Germany, Pakistan and the United Kingdom. Before becoming an academic, Adam had a long career in the theatre and music industries. He maintains an art practice in collage, paperwork and digital imaging and his passions include visual history, museum display, illustration and travel. He is currently writing and designing his second graphic novel and a study of Indigenous society in Van Diemens Land.
